Businesses are utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) chat bots and virtual assistants like never before. Maybe your next virtual assistant may actually be a robot. We are already getting comfortable with automation turning on our lights, playing music, reminding us of appointments. More complex tasks are not far away.
AI Virtual Assistants Trends
Gartner predicts that within the next couple of years, 85% of interactions with customers will be done without a human. As technology and customer demands increase, humans can’t keep up, which makes the need for Artificial Intelligence virtual assistants. They help keep the business’s labor costs down as well as improve high turnover rates.
AI assistants are becoming more human and less robot-like. Recently, Amazon had a contest with teams from universities to create “a socialbot that can converse coherently and engagingly with humans on popular topics for 20 minutes.” The top prize was $1 millon. Rand Hindi who is the CEO of Snips.ai says that these social bots can only go as far as they can go and will never be able to communicate on the level that humans do. Most humans still prefer human interaction over AI. It’s just a matter of time before we can’t tell the difference.
Some artificial intelligence virtual assistants that are already on the market are: Alexa, Google Assistant, Cortana, Watson’s Assistant, and Snips.
